WAV GRANT SCHEME 2023
New Scheme Launched for 2023 with Increased Funding (WAV23).
To support the wider availability of wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs) in Ireland’s small public service vehicle fleet, the National Transport Authority has announced that the WAV Grant Scheme will run again in 2023 with increased grant funding available this year. The scheme launched on 1 January 2023.
As part of the WAV Grant Scheme (WAV23), you may be eligible to receive financial aid of up to €17,500 for the purchase or conversion of a new WAV. The grant is offered on a sliding scale, with lower amounts available for older vehicles. This scheme does not apply to cars older than 6 years. Complimentary disability awareness training will also be made available to applicants to support service provision.
Any individual or company in Ireland wishing to purchase or convert an ‘internal combustible engine’ (ICE) WAV or an electric WAV (eWAV) can apply for the scheme.
